TEKKA - Account and Data Deletion

Last Updated: October 27, 2026

This page explains how to delete your TEKKA account and the data associated with it, and how to request deletion of specific data without closing your account.

App: TEKKA (Android package com.jointekka.mobile, iOS bundle com.jointekka.mobile)
Developer: TEKKA LLC, 30 N Gould St Ste N, Sheridan, WY 82801, US

1. Delete your account from the app

Open the TEKKA app and sign in.
Go to the Profile tab, then scroll to the bottom of the screen.
Tap Delete account.
Type DELETE to confirm and, if prompted, enter your password.
We send a confirmation email to your registered address. Open the link in that email to complete the deletion.

The same option is available on the web at jointekka.com/profile under Danger Zone.

If you own a club: transfer ownership to another user, or close the club, before deleting your account. A club owns courts, staff, bookings and a payout account, so we cannot delete the owner behind an operating business. The app tells you which club is blocking the deletion; email [email protected] if you need help with the transfer.

If you have an unsettled balance: an unpaid court fee, a coaching debt or an outstanding Open Play payment must be settled or waived before the account can be deleted. The app names what is outstanding, and your club or coach can waive it.

2. Delete your account without the app

If you can no longer sign in or have uninstalled the app, email [email protected] from the address registered on your account with the subject line "Account deletion request". Include the email address or phone number on the account so we can identify it. We may ask you to verify ownership of the account before we act, and we will confirm in writing once the deletion is complete.

3. Request deletion of specific data only

You do not have to close your account to have data removed. You can:

Delete match photos and videos individually in the Match Vault, or ask us to purge the whole vault.
Withdraw analytics consent in Profile → Settings → Privacy, which stops product analytics collection and lets you request erasure of previously collected events.
Unsubscribe from marketing email through the link in any marketing message.
Request erasure of any other category of personal data by emailing [email protected] and naming the data concerned.

Parents and legal guardians may exercise all of these rights on behalf of a minor's account.

4. What is deleted

When your account is deleted, we remove:

Your profile: name, email address, phone number, password, date of birth, gender, self-reported NTRP rating, profile picture, language, currency and notification preferences.
All photos and videos you uploaded to the Match Vault, including the underlying files in object storage.
Your product-analytics profile and its event history.
Push notification tokens and device identifiers linked to your account.
Your club staff and coach assignments, invitations, and saved preferences.

5. What is retained, and for how long

A small amount of data survives account deletion because the law requires it or because it no longer identifies you:

Data	Reason	Retention period
Invoices, payment and refund records	Tax, accounting and anti-money-laundering obligations	Typically 5-7 years, depending on the applicable jurisdiction
Club verification documents (business accounts only)	Statutory record-keeping for the business relationship	Duration of the relationship plus the statutory period, then deleted or anonymized
DAC7 tax information (coaches who sold lessons or services through TEKKA)	Legal obligation under EU tax rules (DAC7)	As long as tax law requires us to keep reporting records, no longer than ten years after the end of the year it was reported for, then deleted
Records needed to establish, exercise or defend legal claims	Legitimate interest / legal obligation	Until the relevant limitation period expires
Aggregated, non-identifying statistics	Service operation and reporting	Indefinitely; these cannot be linked back to you

Payment card data is never stored on our systems. Our payment processor (Stripe) retains transaction records as an independent controller under its own retention rules.

6. How long deletion takes

We act on a confirmed deletion request immediately. Live systems are purged as part of the request; residual copies in encrypted backups are removed as those backups age out of the ordinary rotation. If a request needs manual handling, we complete it within 30 days and confirm by email.

Deletion is permanent. Bookings, lesson history, tournament results and uploaded media cannot be restored afterwards, so download anything you want to keep before you start.
